REGISTRATION

Congratulations on taking the first steps to becoming a Top Gun Surgeon!

Here are some key facts you need to know:

The Top Gun program works by having specific performance parameters measure your score as you go through each drill (See drill tab for more information on the different drills).

 

Participants will compete for slots in the Top Gun Shoot Out; crowning one SAGES 2017 TOP GUN.

 

The first step includes entering registration information. This information will help establish a background for the participants of this program.

LOCATION

SAGES Surgical Convention 2017 will take place from March 22nd-25th with Mini Med School taking place on March 26th. It will be located at the George R. Brown Convention Center, in Houston Texas.

TIMING

Wednesday, March 22 Opening Reception: 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

 

Thursday, March 23 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

 

Competition will take place on Friday, March 24th at 12pm.

 

NOTE: Participating in the program ends the day before the competition on Friday. You must be registered and have all scores in by then.

 

Dress Rehearsal is on Friday, March 24th at 11:15 am. You must be present to ensure you will participate in the Top Gun Shoot-Out. If you are late you forfeit your position, and an alternate will be moved up.

SCORING​

Your score and time for each drill will be recorded on paper at the SAGES event.

 

The score for the top 20 individuals will be dynamically posted on the website (See Scoreboard tab). Know where you stand at all times!

 

Verification of Score: Once your score is taken at the SAGES event, a record of your score will be immortalized by a pdf of your score sheet.

PRIZES

Yes, there are prizes! The top 3 contestants will compete in the Top Gun Shoot-Out! They will compete to receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies that are especially customized for the Top Gun Program.

 

NOTE: Fourth, fifth, and sixth place qualifiers will be selected as alternates  

 

So check the scoreboard! If you are in the top 6 then make sure you are available to compete for prizes.

The competition will take place at 12 pm on Friday, March 25th. YOU MUST contact us with any concerns by 10am on Friday, March 25th. Failure to do so may lead to the inability to participate and compete in the Top Gun Shoot-Out.
